Ghana Space Science and Technology Institute (GSSTI), officially inaugurated on 2 May 2012, was Ghana’s first agency dedicated to space science, exploration, astronomy, and technology. Operating under the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission, GSSTI and the Ghana Space Agency (GhSA) seek to advance national expertise through education, research, commercial innovation, and private spaceflight. Their work supports astrophysics, remote sensing, natural-resource management, weather forecasting, agriculture, and national security.

The Ministry builds Ghana’s scientific and technological capacity to restore the environment and manage natural resources sustainably through the development and use of innovative technologies.
